On April 17th our school took us to Skopje. We don't need to say how great it was. We were kind of skeptic back then but at the second we met our hosts we started to love the place. We had the best time, and it was totally different than we expected. First day was really difficult for us because we were very tired. We stayed up only untill 11 pm. On Friday we had to be in school by 10 am and we worked in groups. We were presenting Martin Krpan, traditional Slovenian story by Fran Levstik to Macedonian students in the English workshop. We had a lot of fun, the people there are great! Then we had some free time to eat and go shopping. Food there... they have enormous pancakes, great pizzas and a lot of McDonald's restaurants. Mostly we ate fast food and deserts, candy, and other junk (but delicious) food. We were never hungry, thirsty, tired, or sick of anything. Everything is also cheaper there. After lunch we split up and went to some shops and then to the school to perform our small Martin Krpan show. When we finished we went out with our Macedonian and Slovenian friends. It was so great, we were laughing, playing and having so much fun! The next day we went to Kruševo to see the grave of Toše Proeski and to Ohrid, which is the biggest lake in Macedonia. We stayed there for almost all day, we spent money and had a great time. When we came home we went out again to hang out and enjoy our last evening together. We went to eat the last Macedonian pancakes and then we went for a walk on the streets of Skopje. It was way after midnight when we came home. We pretended that we're OK, but we could already sense the sadness in the air. On Sunday we had to be on the bus at 9:30 am. Too soon to leave! But rules are rules, what can we do, it was time to go. Some of us cried, and some were trying not to, but we all had something in mind: these friendships aren't over, this is just the beginning. We'll never forget their hospitality and friendship, because they were always paying for everything, we brought most of our money back home. Nobody wanted to leave, but everything has to end at one point (usually the best things).
